Auburn (11-5-1, 3-5-1 SEC) fell behind early and couldn’t overcome the deficit in a 3-1 loss at Arkansas (11-3-3, 6-2-1 SEC) Sunday afternoon at Razorback Field.
Auburn men’s tennis has a full roster competing in the 2018 ITA Southern Regionals this weekend at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala; other regional teams in action include Jacksonville State, Louisiana-Lafayette, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane, UAB and host Alabama.
“This is the final match of a long stretch on the road,” head coach Rick Nold said. “Missouri is always a tough defensive team with big blockers at the net. It’ll be another test for this youthful team against a strong opponent.”
"We're facing a really good team coming in this weekend," head coach Greg Williams said. "Oklahoma State just finished beating Baylor, who is a highly-ranked team. This is going to be a good showdown between the SEC and the Big 12 as the Cowgirls always bring it in competition. We're looking forward to a great meet Friday and hope to see the Auburn Family out in numbers."
Auburn's Deshaun Davis has been named a quarter-finalist for the Lott Impact Trophy. Davis has been a impact player for Auburn and one of the leaders of the most feared defenses in the nation. Davis has recorded 59 tackles this season for 8.5 tackles for loss (career high) and one sack.
Auburn guards Bryce Brown and Jared Harper were tabbed Preseason Second Team All-SEC by a select panel of both Southeastern Conference and national media members. The Tigers were the only team to have both members of their backcourt voted to the annual all-conference team.
Fresh off head coach Karen Hoppa’s 300th career win, Auburn soccer (11-3-1, 3-3-1 SEC) hosts No. 12 Vanderbilt (13-1-1, 6-0-1 SEC) in its second to last home contest of the 2018 regular season Thursday. Kickoff at the Auburn Soccer Complex is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
Following the State of Emergency issued Monday by Governor Kay Ivey, the previously planned outside event at iconic Toomer’s Corner presented safety concerns for fans, public safety personnel and those who were scheduled to set up the event Wednesday evening.
