It was Friday afternoon when I received life-altering texts about the WEGL Day Plans. I didn’t think it was real. Then the music started rolling.
The information was initially leaked by WEGL’s very own Station Manager, Rae Nawrocki. These plans weren’t meant to be public, yet the accidental leak included plans of action involving mini cupcakes, guitar picks and even a pinata. Truly preposterous.
This information was received via iMessage, most of the package detailed in an Excel spreadsheet I had to work hours to decode.
On April 25th, 2025 WEGL will turn 54-years-old, and its leadership isn’t backing down. They will bring forth a full 24-hour broadcast upon us, featuring music and commentary from almost every student-hosted show in the organization.
Following the leak of the spreadsheet, marked at 2:38pm Auburn, AL, Nawrocki messaged again in a text reading “the listeners won’t know what’s coming to them.”
The mistake they had made was made apparent after many more texts followed, pleading for me to not leak this vital information, but after the use of cookie cakes was made apparent, I saw it as my duty to act.
It is absolutely preposterous that the leadership of this organization is discussing top security matters through iMessage. Anyone could infiltrate their partying plans, let alone further WEGL Day information that is not to be disclosed.
I understand I wasn’t intended to receive the texts at hand, but it is my WEGL Beagle responsibility to bring forth this information. Updates to come.
