WEGL Sessions returns with a February release featuring decorated saxophonist and music educator, Khari Allen Lee!
Lee is a lecturer at Auburn University as the Walt & Ginger Woltosz Endowed Professor of Practice and Director of Commercial Music. He participates in The New Creative Collective, an American Art Music ensemble featuring some of New Orleans’ most skillful artists.
But, Lee doesn’t play alone, his band in this release includes Aaron Locklear on drums, John Evans on the bass, and Christopher Steele on guitar!
Locklear is a professor in percussion at Auburn University with a Master’s of Music from the Eastman School of Music. Evans is a bassist for local Auburn bands Bruh Collective, Brunch With Rosie, and Lunar Parque. Steele is a student at Auburn University and active in the local music scene.
The newest session features performances of songs like “Dear Lord” by John Coltrane and “Come Together” by The Beatles.
