Auburn looks for back-to-back conference victories in road clash against Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Auburn Tigers (10-9, 1-5 SEC) will travel to Starkville, Mississippi to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs (15-5, 2-4 SEC) in search of a second consecutive conference win.

Auburn is coming off its first conference win of the season against Missouri, which it won 75-60 in Neville Arena on Sunday. The Tigers welcomed newcomer Yuting Deng to the Plains, and the freshman did not disappoint, scoring 13 points in just her second collegiate game. Auburn will look for her to provide a spark to what has been a disappointing start to the season.

Mississippi State is coming off back-to-back losses to Tennessee and Ole Miss and is looking to get back to its winning ways against Auburn. The Tigers will have their hands full with the Bulldogs' leading scorer Jerkaila Jordan, a senior guard averaging 15.8 points per game. The Tigers will also attempt to keep Mississippi State off the boards, as the Bulldogs rank 16th nationally in rebound margin (+9.3).

Mississippi State will look to protect its home hardwood, something they have been able to do quite well against the Tigers, winning the series’ last six meetings in Starkville. The Bulldogs are 7-2 at home this season, while Auburn is 2-4 on the road. Auburn will also be in search of its first conference road win of the season.

This will be the 63rd all-time meeting between Auburn and Mississippi State, with the Tigers leading the series 36-26.

Tipoff between the Tigers and Bulldogs is set for 6:30 p.m. on SECN+ in Humphrey Coliseum with Bart Gregory and Brittany Lange on the call. You can also watch on the ESPN app or listen live on the Auburn Sports Network.
