The Graduate by Hilton opens Sept. 27

Auburn gained a new gem last weekend, the latest of the unique collegiate-based hotel collection. "The Graduate" by Hilton opened its doors Friday, Sept. 27. Curated with small, distinctive details and one-of-a-kind interior design, the hotel is located in the heart of downtown Auburn, just steps away from classic landmarks such as Toomer’s Corner and Samford Hall.

The hotel invites alumni, students and visitors to step back in time, as they are immersed in the small town’s rich history– dating back 187 years. At each Graduate Hotel location, there is a community table displayed in the center of the room, intended to provide an environment for both students and alumni to share a space together and form connections based on their common love for their university.

What makes this Graduate location unique is the incorporation of specific Auburn historical events in the physical attributes of the building. For example, in every guest room, a custom-made lamp is presented which features Bo Jackson’s “over the top” touchdown. Another unique quality specific to The Graduate at Auburn is the hand painted student section mural that can be seen by guests as they step on and off the elevators.

It is seemingly impossible to look at any detail of the lobby and not be able to draw a connection to the university’s history.

At the launch event, the hotel was enjoyed by guests, as they explored its many unique attractions, including Bo Jackson’s Beans, The Rooftop Supper Club and a picture-esque, life-sized eagle’s nest that overlooks Jordan-Hare Stadium, each incorporating a piece of the loveliest village on the plains.

The event was accompanied by a live performance from Jake Owen, a popular Nashville based country singer who has been signed to RCA Nashville since 2006. Owen played some of his greatest hits, including his most famous one, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night."

The intimate crowd gathered at the rooftop bar, as Owen played an acoustic set with funny anecdotes between each song, solidifying the exciting addition to the Auburn community. We happily welcome the new hotel and highly recommend a visit to anyone who wants a little “War Eagle” spirit in their life!
