Auburn welcomes second top-25 matchup of the season

AUBURN, Ala. -- The No. 13 Auburn Tigers (6-0-0) begin a four-game home stand this Sunday, September 8 against the No. 17 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0-1). The Tigers will be looking to build on their 27-0 goal differential to pick up their second top-25 win of the season.

Auburn comes off their second road win of the season after knocking off in-state opponent Samford 5-0. Shelby Sallee and Olivia Woodson both had braces while the other goal was scored by Lily Borders. The 5-0 win was Auburn Head coach Karen Hoppa’s 350th win of her career.

“What’s really great is that we got our sixth win of the season in our sixth game of the season,” Hoppa said. “Our team is playing hard and continuing to show out. I thought we adapted well to the opponent and scored some great goals.”

It will be the second away game of the season for the Buckeyes, the first coming this past Thursday with a trip to Annapolis Maryland with a 4-0 win over Navy. Ohio State’s lone tie was against South Carolina tying at one apiece, the second goal allowed for the Buckeyes with the first being in a 3-1 win against Ashland. The goal differential is set at 13-2.

Kaylin Dudkovich will be the player to circle with six goals across five appearances, with 24 shots 11 of which finding their way on goal. While Molly Pritchard will most likely be in the box for the Buckeyes, the goalkeeper has played 386 minutes across five minutes allowing one goal.

The Tigers welcome the Buckeyes at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 9th. Listen live on WEGL 91.1fm, or on the Auburn Athletics app.
