Auburn basketball has made another splash today with the commitment of 4-star Jahki Howard. The forward, rated No. 76 in the 2024 class according to 247Sports Composite rating chose the Tigers over the likes of Arkansas, Arizona and Georgia Tech.
Howard stands at 6-foot-6 and 175-pounds, while currently playing for Overtime Elite in Atlanta. Howard showed out at the Overtime Elite showcase earlier this month, tailing 21 points and seven rebounds in route to a win.
The performance showed just how dominate Howard is as a player and backed up the 19 offers the senior has.
The Tigers have been in the mix for Howard for a while now, putting an offer on the table back in February of 2021. Bruce Pearl and company were only the third team to offer the player, behind only Rutgers and Florida.
With the addition of Howard, Auburn now boasts the No. 25 class nationally and No. 5 in the SEC, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.
Howard’s commitment is a welcomed sight after the program received a national letter of intent from Tahaad Pettiford today, the No. 2 point guard in the 2024 class.
