Charming within her simplicity: Chloe Moriondo delivers an admirable performance despite her modest production.
Chloe Moriondo made an appearance at Hell at the Masquerade, Atlanta, Friday November 4th. They were accompanied by Dreamer Isioma, who, in between blue and purple lights, performed their tracks without hiccups.
After Dreamer’s performance, Moriondo took the stage with a lighthearted attitude. She sent out a couple giggles and didn’t even have to breathe into the microphone for people to send their hearts across spotlights. As "Knockout" and "Celebrity", the first and second track of the night respectively, ended, Moriondo received countless stuffed animals, rose bouquets and posters to sign. Someone in the back even threw a CD case and she doodled hearts and stars into it with love, grateful for her passionate fans. These close interactions with the crowd made the night special for many, suddenly that wall in between the musician and the crowd was invisible.
The show continued with tracks "Take Your Time", "Bodybag", "CDBaby", and "Cry", all performed with enthusiasm and dedication. In between these, Chloe Moriondo talked to the crowd as if they were sharing anecdotes over a cup of coffee. She recalled stories from past adventures with Ashnikko, an artist she opened for years ago, connecting with the veteran fans that have been there since the beginning.
Moriondo continued with the set, taking a brief break to talk about the tracks "Plastic Purse" and "DRESS UP". They shared with the crowd their not so buried meanings. "DRESS UP" specifically protests against physical appearance being the 'only thing a female presenting person has to offer'. Chloe Moriondo definitely has a message to spread, one of bodily integrity and protection for her fans.
The show moved on, the set list as follows:
1. Knockout
2. Celebrity
3. Take Your Time
4. Bodybag
5. CDBaby

On their last three songs, Moriondo took a ukulele and with endless charm awed the crowds. It was vulnerable, it was pure, it was real. Chloe Moriondo did not need a big band, fancy back drops or elaborate light designs to bring an excellent performance to the table. They are on the verge of a break through, and there no doubt new heights will be reached with the messages she preaches.
Chloe Moriondo will continue stealing hearts across America and Europe, in support of her latest album release SUCKER PUNCH. The dates of tour are as follows:
