After dropping their first game of the season in Baton Rouge, the Auburn Tigers (16-1 SEC:4-1) traveled back to Nevil Arena for a weekend series against the Georgia Bulldogs (12-5 SEC: 3-3.) Auburn would sweep the series after a 3-1 win on Saturday and a thrilling 3-2 win on Sunday.
Auburn played their first game against the Bulldogs on Saturday, October the eighth, Auburn would be led to the 3-1 win by Kendal Kemp with 10 of Auburn’s 14 blocks, the eighth time Auburn has had over 10 total blocks.
Jackie Barrett would also help the Tigers with 41 assists, and 10 digs recording her straight double-double and her fifth of the season.
Game number two was played on Sunday, October ninth, and was a barnburner that filled all five sets, but ultimately was ended by the Tigers with a 5-0 scoring run, as Auburn won the fifth set and the match 16-14.
Akasha Anderson led the way for the Tigers with 21 kills, 11 digs, and three blocks. Akasha Anderson also extended her kills on the season to over 200 on the year as she currently sits at 218
Auburn will have another road trip this weekend as this time they will have a weekend series with the Missouri Tigers at 1:00 pm on Saturday October 15, and at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 16.
