Auburn was once again unable to find the back of the net and drew with another pack of Tigers.
The Auburn Tigers (6-5-6, 2-5-2 SEC) traveled down to Baton Rouge, LA this weekend for a contest with the LSU Tigers (8-3-6, 3-2-4 SEC). The game did not see a single goal.
“We played a great game,” Auburn head coach Karen Hoppa said. “Our defense was outstanding to earn a shutout on the road against a really good LSU team, and our offense was really dangerous."
Auburn finished with 14 shots, six of them being on-goal. They had six fouls called on them, were called offside three times and took six corner kicks. Goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska only had to make two saves.
LSU finished with 13 shots, two of them being on-goal. They were called for 13 fouls, were called offside once and also took six corner kicks. Goalkeeper Mollee Swift had to make six.
LSU forward Taylor Dobles received a yellow card for unsporting at the 53:15 mark.
Auburn will be back in action at home on Thursday night against the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide. Hoppa said, "Now, it all comes down to the biggest rivalry in sports on Thursday for the Iron Bowl of soccer.”
