Four-star wide receiver Karmello English announce his decommitment from Auburn via Twitter this afternoon.
English said, "First and foremost I would like to thank God and the University of Auburn and there great coaching staff," English said in a Twitter announcement. "I am grateful to the staff for providing me a(n) opportunity to represent WDE as a student-athlete... I have had several conversations with my family and have came to a difficult decision... I will be decommitting from the University of Auburn and reopening my recruitment."
According to the 24/7 Sports Composite, English is the No. 162 ranked recruit in the class of 2023. He is ranked No. 14 in the state of Alabama and he comes in at No. 22 in the wide receiver rankings. His composite rating was 0.9331.
English was the highest rated prospect in Auburn's 2023 recruiting class to date. Running back Jeremiah Cobb now holds that title with a composite rating of 0.9229.
Some other notable offers English holds include Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M and Michigan.
Last season he caught 70 passes for 1,059 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Central High School Red Devils.
English has not given any indication on when he will announce his new commitment.
