MUNA take on Atlanta to a sold out crowd at The Masquerade's Heaven stage.
Saddest Factory Records signees MUNA have been turning heads since the labels founder, Phoebe Bridgers, gave them a cosign. Their rise to stardom in the indie-sphere has been marked by years of constant growth and touring, with the latter being just one facet of this.
Pop-punk internet stars on the rise Meet Me @ The Alter got the show going early. The trio, who met online in 2015, have been steadily on the rise thanks to opening slots on larges tours like this one. High energy, rambunctious, and rowdy, this band knows how to get a crowd's attention. Me Meet @ The Alter are certainly one of the most exciting bands in their lane at the moment, I'd expect to see big things from them in the future.
It feels safe to say MUNA is a fantastic live band. In fact, that feels like an understatement. This trio has some of the best stage presence of any band I've seen in the past 12 months and are without a doubt incredibly talented musicians. Made up of Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson, MUNA has been taking over the world since their debut and that grip on power has only been growing stronger.
Pop sensibilities and instrumentation with a ton of flavor, MUNA is a band you can't help but smile around. This trio is just fun, plain and simple. They bring so much joy with their performance, they have a genuine presence that can't be replicated. MUNA kicked off their set with a three song run of "What I Want", "Number One Fan", and "Solid", and incredible bout of pop laced indie rock to start the night off strong.
MUNA is, and I don't say this lightly, a blast. For the entire show, all three members of the band and their two touring musicians gave the audience everything they had. They never slowed down, they never took a half measure. Their joy for performing could shine through any fog. High energy runs across stage, rapid movements from side to side, and dynamic action graced the stage all night.
Of course, the band's biggest hit to date, "Silk Chiffon", was a stand out. They closed out the night with it, and brought out Meet Me @ The Alter to help end it on a high. The trio also covered The Killers "Mr. Brightside", an intimidating song to cover, but an instant smash. I personally believe MUNA is one of those bands that could cover any song and have it hit.
Pure bliss from start to finish. Every song on MUNA's setlist felt special, and every single one was stellar to hear live.

A stellar performance. MUNA are quickly paving their own path as the future of underground pop, with an outstanding stage presence, beautiful harmonies, and a just plain fun performance. It should be no surprise why they've grown to have such a ravenous fanbase so quickly based on this one show, just as it should be no surprise in a couple of years when they're playing venues 10x the size of this one.
