Last season for the Auburn Tigers was one to remember. The Tigers finished the season with a 12-7-1 record while also making the NCAA tournament but getting bounced in the first round by in-state foe the Samford Bulldogs. During the season, the Tigers also made their way into the history books by achieving the longest winning streak in program history by winning 11 games in a row, dating all the way back to the 2020-2021 season, including starting off last season 6-0-0.
Coming off an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers are prime for another chance at the tournament, but to get that started they will also be taking on another NCAA tournament team from last season in the Old Dominion Monarchs. The Monarchs went 13-5-1 before losing in the first round to number one seed the Duke Blue Devils.
Coming into this season, Auburn will be without Alyssa Malonson and Grace Sklopan, whose leadership will be missed by the Tigers as they head into this season.
Auburn has been given high praise from the media as they have been predicted to finish fourth this season, compared to last year's preseason poll where the Tigers were ranked seventh.
The Tigers look to begin their quest to Cary, NC as they kick off the season on Thursday August 18 vs the Old Dominion Monarchs at 6:30 pm at the Auburn Soccer Complex and live on weglfm.com. You can click the link below to listen to the broadcast.
