Hangout Music Festival closes out the three day weekend with a bang as the festival pushed through the rain.
An early weather evacuation, rising waves, and torrential downpour were not enough to ruin a day of live music.
The final day of Hangout was headlined by Tame Impala, Megan Thee Stallion, Jack Harlow, Phoebe Bridgers, and Louis The Child. From Phoebe's beach goth sunset performance to Jack Harlow performing the number one song on Billboard, this was an incredible selection.
Tame Impala's set was truly legendary. Delayed slightly due to weather, Kevin Parker and company played until the very end, they were cut off due to noise restrictions. Soaking wet, the audience was there to party the entire time. Fans had been camping out the main stage since doors reopened, withstanding the rain for a wild performance. The production on this set was wild, with the band's legendary 'Donut' making an appearance overhead with more lasers than could be counted.
Despite the weather, festival goers certainly had a ton of fun. The beauty of events like this is seeing the absolute joy in the faces of attendees, connecting over live music, good food, and the ocean breeze. Hangout Music Festival did a fantastic job at capturing this moment all weekend.
GG Magree was one of many DJs to hit the stage at either the Malibu Beach House and Monster Beach Club this weekend. With a strong selection of EDM artists, Hangout really started to attract more fans from the scene this year.
Some notable performances from earlier in the day were rising indie stars Flipturn, the groovy Blu DeTiger, and Joy Oladokun. The later two hit the BMI Mermaid stage back to back for an amazing double headers of women in music.
Auburn alumni The Brook & The Bluff were one of the first acts to hit the stage after the weather delay. Playing on the main stage in pouring rain, the band and crowd were unperturbed by mother nature's intrusion. Their performance was raw and the connection with the audience in the face of the storm was something to witness in person.
