Lake Street Dive take on the Magic City on their Fall 2021 tour.
Special guest Allison Russell took the stage to kick off the show. Allison and company brough some light folk pop tunes to get the crowd ready, featuring cello, electric guitar, tambourine, banjo, and even a clarinet!
Lake Street Dive's sound fuses elements of indie pop, jazz, and folk to craft a fun and peppy live sound. Keys, double bass, and jazz guitar help seal the deal. This is the bands first tour with their new guitarist, James Cornelison, and he came to party.
The band's latest release, Obviously, came out this past March. This is their first full tour since that release, and what a return. The album sees a more produced sound, with many of the songs being caught live including hit "Hypotheticals" and "Hush Money."
From a photography point of view, they lighting package the band is tour with is amazing. Expertly directed, the lights really added a magical feeling to the night. Easily one of the best I've seen at the venue in the last few weeks.
