GROUPLOVE stormed into Atlanta's latest concert hall, The Eastern, last night to kick off their 'Just What You Want' tour! The band recently relocated to The A and their first home-town crowd welcomed them with open arms.
This was the band's first headling show in 18 and a half months. They came prepared.
As you could expect, GROUPLOVE brought a ton of energy to the show. The crowd, already high off of BLACKSTARKIDS' opening set, reciprocated that energy, dancing their hearts out all night. Even the ballads had the crowd moving.
The band took extra caution to make sure their fans were safe, vaccines are required on the entirety of their tour. This makes them one of the first major tours to do so. Masks were also worn indoors.
After a long year without music, fans were more than excited. GROUPLOVE's music has always had a sense of hopefulness and community, something people have missed. Last night, "everyone was GROUPLOVE".
Some notable songs were "I'm With You" which saw the crowd and band become one, singing in unison, uplifting each other. The melody of "Tongue Tied" fading into "Space Oddity" was a highlight of the night. To kick off the encore, Christian performed the first portion of "Enlighten Me" solo, a powerful song that left the crowd in awe.
Last night's setlist is below. Despite playing 18 songs, there were some notable songs missing. The band has release their fourth and fifth albums since their last tour (Healer and This Is This).
