WEGL 91.1 FM has been nominated for five awards by IBS, Intercollegiate Broadcast System, in the 2020-2021 IBS awards.
IBS is a membership group that includes thousands of television and radio stations, both collegiate and high school, all across the country, with an annual award show recognizing some of the best.
The Xtra Point, WEGL’s daily sports talk show hosted by former Sports Director Jared Dillard was nominated for Best Podcast and Best Sports Talk Program.
The Scoreboard with Bay Marks and Jacob Hillman received a nomination for Best Show Promo for the second consecutive year.
Aidan Kowalski received two nominations for his play-by-play commentary this past fall. Aidan and Brendan McLaughlin, the host of the Mackey Hour, were nominated for Best Sports Play-by-Play (Other) for their work calling Auburn Soccer vs. Kentucky last fall. Aidan also received a nomination for Best Baseball/Softball Play-by-Play for his commentary during Game 4 of the Auburn Fall Series.
Eagle Eye TV, Auburn’s student-run television station received six IBS nominations this year. The award ceremony will be held virtually on March 6th.
