The Tigers lose in straight sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-21) to the fourth ranked Florida Gators for the second consecutive night who now improve to 2-0 on the season. A majority of Florida’s points came off the hot hand of T’ara Ceasar who recorded 12 of the teams 41 kills on the night.
Auburn now falls to 0-2 on the year but did a better job defending against the Gator front line led by Holly Carlton and Lauren Dooley who each had four of the 10 team blocks on the night. The Tigers were able to string together a couple early rallies in each set and showed improvement with each set. In the end the Tigers lost momentum as Florida flexed their muscles never having taken a timeout in the entire series.

The Tigers travel to Columbia next week to take on the Gamecocks Oct. 28 and 29 then have a date with the currently third ranked Kentucky Wildcats Nov. 7 and 8. Auburn won’t see the Auburn Arena in a regularly scheduled match until Nov. 18 and 19 when Tennessee comes to town to round out the 8 game Fall conference schedule.
