Auburn Volleyball was defeated in four sets (25-19, 22-25, 15-25, 16-25) to Mississippi State on the road Friday night. The Tigers have yet to win a SEC match this season.
Auburn won the first set, but the momentum was with the Bulldogs (12-9, 1-8) the rest of the night. Sophomore Gabby Waden led with with 15 kills, and Deja Robinson had a standout night with nine kills and a .318 hitting percentage. Freshman Callie Minshew totaled 11 kills and 15 digs, her third double-double this season. Setter Alleah Stamatis recorded 46 assists, and Libero Kanani Price paced the Bulldogs with 21 digs. In addition, the Bulldogs finished the night with 11 blocks while Auburn only had three.
Sophomore Tatum Shipes continues to lead the Tigers with nine kills. Freshman Lily Thomason had eight kills, and junior Chesney McClellan completed the offensive attack with seven. Setter Morgan Kull closed the night with 28 assists. Auburn finished with a .083 hitting percentage.
Auburn hopes to end the season on a good note, by picking up their first conference win at Arkansas on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CT.
