FORT WORTH, Texas- Today, Auburn volleyball finished the ADD-RAN cup with an unfortunate 3-2 (25-21, 19-25, 19-25, 25-16, 16-14) loss to TCU. In their previous match on Saturday, the Tigers beat Miami 3-1 (22-25, 23-25, 26-24,18-25).
Four Tigers had double-digit kills for the day: Senior Enija Bidzane led the team with 14, both Junior Chesney McClellan and Sophomore Tatum Shipes had 12 and Sophomore Val Green had 10. Auburn continued to dominate on the service line with 11 aces while TCU only had 4. Val Green had a career-high chipping in four of those 11.
"The thing for us is to keep getting better each match," head coach Rick Nold said. "I thought we battled. I thought we made good adjustments. We play aggressively, which is what I want to wanted to see, especially in our serving. I was really happy with the impact we were having there."
Despite the loss, Sophomore setter Marissa Hines recorded her fourth double-double with 44 assists and 11 digs. Junior libero Payton White led the day with 19.
The Tigers continue their road play up north, facing Michigan State, Western Michigan and IUPUI in Kalamazoo September 20-21.
