Auburn Soccer Looks to Cap off Home Stand with a Win vs. Samford
The Auburn Soccer Team will take the field Sunday night, it will be their fourth, and final, game of this home stand. The team is coming off a 2-0 loss to Southern Miss, the Tigers’ first home defeat this season.
This match will be the 15th time that these two teams have played. The Tigers currently lead with 11-2-1, and have won their last three games against Samford.
Last Friday evening against Southern Miss, the Tigers out shot the Golden Eagles 15-6, with five of those shots being on goal. Auburn lost the game 2-0, with the two goals coming from the only two shots on target from the visitors.
Samford, with a 3-2-2 record, is coming off a home win against Alabama State. The Bulldogs had a whopping 33 shots with 18 of those being on target, resulting in a 5-0 thrashing of the Hornets.
After the game, Auburn will be looking forward to away games at Kentucky and Old Dominion.
