Auburn forward Chuma Okeke was named the SEC Player of the Week Monday, as announced by the league office.
This is the second career honor Okeke has received from the league. He was named SEC Freshman of the Week during the week of Dec. 4, 2017.
Okeke, a sophomore, averaged 19.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game (both led the Tigers) in two wins against South Alabama and No.25 Washington.
In the 101-58 win over South Alabama, Okeke scored a career high 20 points while stuffing the stat sheet with nine rebounds, five assists, three blocks and three steals.
He notched a double-double against No.25 Washington, scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds in the Tigers 88-66 win.
Next up for Okeke and the Tigers is a matchup versus Mississippi College Wednesday night at 7 p.m. CT at Auburn Arena.
