The Auburn Tigers (10-13, 3-10) return home to Auburn Arena Wednesday night to take on the No. 24 Missouri Tigers (20-5, 10-3).
Auburn is coming off of a 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-14) away defeat against South Carolina (17-6, 8-5) this past Sunday. In the loss, Freshmen Tatum Shipes and Mica Allison once again were standouts for Auburn.
Shipes had a team-high 10 kills, her fourth-straight double-digit performance. Allison led the team with her 34 assists and 11 digs. Sophomore Anna Stevenson and senior Brenna McIlroy had nine and eight kills, respectively.
No. 24 Missouri will be looking to bounce back against Auburn after also losing to South Carolina in their last game. Last Friday, Missouri was upset by South Carolina in five sets, losing 3-2 (18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13). The loss snapped Missouri’s eight-match winning streak.
Missouri is led by senior Alyssa Munlyn and sophomore Kylie Deberg. Munlyn leads the SEC with an average of 1.35 blocks per set, while Deberg leads the team with a 3.54 kills per set average and 410.5 points on the season.
Auburn is 1-10 all-time vs. Missouri and is looking for its first win against them since Missouri joined the SEC in 2012. The game will be available to listen to live on WEGL 91.1 FM or online at weglfm.com, with coverage starting with the pregame show at 7:45 CT.
