Moon Taxi returned to Avondale Brewing Company last Friday to an energized crowd, continuing their Silver Dream tour.
This was Moon Taxi's first headlining show in Birmingham since October of 2019 when they played Avondale on Halloween night. The band made an appearance in June at Euphonious Music Festival at the Birmingham Zoo, where their set was rained out pushing them inside for an intimate acoustic set. Birmingham is like a second hometown for the band, with several of the members being from the Vestavia Hills area.
Opening up the night was Olympic Music, an act centered around frontman Andy Gunn. The band featured several members of Moon Taxi, including guitarist Spencer Thomson and vocalist/saxophonist Amber Woodhouse.
Moon Taxi's take on pop-rock, modern alternative, with jam-band tendencies creates an absolute party. Frontman Trevor Terndrup is not only a great vocalist, but knows how to command the stage. The full band had a chance to captivate the audience with solos and jam sessions throughout the set.
The band had a standout setlist, from their hits "Morocco" and "Two High", to a wide-array of covers, including Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine, and 4 Non Blondes. You can view the whole setlist below:
